White Rice Recipe
Ingredients
-2 Cups of rice
-2 Cups of water
-2 Table spoons of salt
-1 Table spoon of oil
– Rice strainer
Place 2 cups of water in a pot. Set stove on high
Add 2 full spoons of salt, add more if needed
Leave on high until the water starts to boil
Rinse rice with water
Pour rice into the pot
When it comes to this part, it’s important that you stay close to the pot and stir constantly until all the water evaporates. This takes about 5 minutes or so. The stirring prevents the rice from sticking to the bottom of the pot
Wait until the water evaporates. It should look like this
Cover the rice and turn the temperature to low, don’t forget to turn to low because if not, the rice will burn
About 10 minutes after you cover the rice, turn the rice. You start from the bottom of the pot and flip it, so that the rice that was on the top is now on the bottom
This allows all the rice to get cooked thoroughly.
Cup your hands and fill with water, sprinkle the water over the rice. Not to much… just enough to moisten the rice again.
For the best results, cover the pot with aluminum foil
The foil helps the water create a vapor which allows rice to remain moist, grow and cook evenly
