Arepitas De Yuca

Yield: 10-12


  • 2 Yuca roots
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Tbsp of butter
  • 1 Tsp of salt
  • ½ Tsp of sugar
  • ¼ Cup of Anise
  • Frying oil


  1. Peel and Shred the yuca roots in a bowl.
  2. Add egg, butter, salt, sugar and anise. Mix all ingredients together till smooth and set aside.
  3. In pan over medium-high heat, add enough frying oil to cover the arepitas midway.
  4. Once the oil is hot, with a spoon (table spoon), scoop some of the mixture to cover the spoon and drop into the oil.
  5. Fry the arepitas for about 5-8 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
  6. Place on paper towel to absorb the draining oil.
  7. Enjoy!
